What is Hypnobirthing I hear you say?

Well quite simply, hypnobirthing is a childbirth education course that will prepare you to have a safe, calm and positive birthing experience leaving you genuinely excited and completely equipped for birth.

I personally believe that too many women enter into their pregnancies and birth with no clear understanding of the normal processes of labour. They don’t understand that they have the right to make their own choices about the way they experience birth.

The Hypnobirthing Australia™ program will help you become informed and empowered about your birth choices, as well as teach you tools you can use for a calm, positive birthing experience.

Attending hypnobirthing classes will give you the knowledge and techniques for an empowered, positive birthing experience. You will learn how to use your mind and body together to stay focussed and in control.

One of the greatest aspects of hypnobirthing is the level of involvement of your birthing companion. This program helps you and your partner to work as a team, to prepare for your labour as a team.

You and your partner will be taught strategies such as relaxation, meditation, breathing techniques and visualisation that allow the body to birth normally.

We will teach you how to release your fears associated with birthing so that you can approach your birthing experience free from anxiety and negativity.

Giving birth should be your greatest achievement and not your greatest fear. You will walk away from this class believing deep down that you can do this and that you were made to do this.

Our Classes
“It is not only that we want to bring about an easy labor, without risking injury to the mother or the child; we must go further. We must understand that childbirth is fundamentally a spiritual, as well as a physical, achievement. . . The birth of a child is the ultimate perfection of human love.”
Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, 1953
“Women, don’t ever apologize for your behavior or choices during birth. When you OWN your experience and take pride in your journey, you help other women do the same thing. No matter how you did it, you just brought a human being into the world! The world should be kneeling at your feet.”
Lauralyn Curtis
“We experience birth so differently from the intimate spaces of our bodies and minds, it feels disingenuous to strike comparisons and place value judgments. Any woman who experiences the vulnerability of carrying a child in her body (or heart) and bringing it earthside is heroic in my estimation. We all open. We all tear, somewhere (body, heart, soul). We all both wildly embrace and struggle to embrace these experiences. It all takes courage and that courage is always worth celebrating.”
Rachel Lorena Brown
“According to physiological law, all natural, normal functions of the body are achieved without peril or pain. Birth is a natural, normal physiological function for normal, healthy women and their healthy babies. It can, therefore, be inferred that healthy women, carrying healthy babies, can safely birth without peril or pain.”
Dr. Jonathan Dye, 1891
